GĄDNO

(former: Guhden)

Location

You can drive to Gądno (Guhden) from Moryń (Mohrin) (4 km) or from Witnica Chojeńska (Between Chojna (Königsberg/Nm.) and Mieszkowice (Bärwalde/Nm.) (6 km).
Gądno (Guhden) is small village, about 80 inhabitants.
Gądno (Guhden) is located on the side of Lake Morzycko. it is surrounded by wavy fields.

History

Gądno (Guhden) was former a fishermans village. In XVIII century in Gądno (Guhden) was living farmers family, and there were also the inn. In XVIII century owners of Moryń - family von Shöbeck moved to Gądno (Guhden) and make there their settlement. In the end of VXIII century in Gšdno was buildt complex palace with park-garden. Now the palace is in ruin.

Today

There is very nice beach in Gądno (Guhden) . Easy to find.

Church dedicated do Blessed Virgin Mary in Gądno (Guhden)

Holy mass every Sundays 10:00 AM, Wednesdays 4:00 PM.

how to find → When you drive from Moryń (Mohrin) direction Mieszkowice (Bärwalde/Nm.) than immediately after leaving Moryń (Mohrin) take road left (by the lake). From here it is 2 kilometers to Gądno (Guhden).

Morzycko Lake

Lake Morzycko has a depth of up to 60 meters. It is the 9th lake in Poland in terms of depth. It has an area of 342 hectares. Coregonus albula, a fish typical for deep and clean waters, can be found in this lake.

Located by morzycko lake camping place. Possibility of rent small camping house or place for camping car or tent. Easy to find in cener of Gądno (Guhden).
Prices about 10 Euro per person in camping house or about 3 euro in own tent.

how to find → If you drive from Moryń (Mohrin) to Mieszkowice (Bärwalde/Nm.) than immediately after Moryń (Mohrin) turn left on the road by the lake. Drive about 3 km.

Located in woods, by the morzycko lake. Open oficially in summer season.

how to find → From Gądno (Guhden) you need to drive small wood-road around the lake direction anticlockwise. You fint place after about 3 km on left side.
