Dear Sirs and Madams
I am looking into history of my ancestors and particularly into life of Michael Conrad (Konrad) who was born 1763 in Chlopowo (Herrendorf). In this context I would like to know whether the german church registers from the 17th century are available and could be made accessible to me.
Thank you in advance for your kind support!
Best regards
Bruno Heinrich Konrad

Dear Bruno H. Konrad,
I’m affraid that there is almost impossible to find German church register books in the present parishes. A few months ago I have asked local priests (from Różańsko/Rosenthal) about some materials related with nearby Rostin but it was unsuccesful. Old documentation was evacuated or destroyed during the war and there is only little chance that it was moved somewhere after the war (but theoretically it’s not impossible). According to the friendly priest from Różańsko there are not older materials in their documentation than dated at 50-ties. But if I will find some trace I will let you know.
By the way: do you have some documentation about Rostin? We would like (me and my family) to rebuild the medieval church in Rostin and I would be very grateful for your help (I mean information, maybe photos?).
Regards,
Tomasz Nowakiewicz (nowakiewicz@yahoo.com)
