OŚNO LUBUSKIE (former: Drossen)
Interesting places:
The small town Ośno Lubuskie (Drossen), earlier known as a producer of lilys of the valley, has a well-preserved city wall and a worth to see townhall. Due their location not far of a lake it is touristical
very advisable.

On the outskirts there is a lookout tower. The tower was built in 1937 as a memorial for an employee of
Hitler, but years later wrongly declared as Bismarck-tower, what probably saved him from destruction after the war.
Today it has fallen slightly, but offers a nice view of the surrounding area of Ośno Lubuskie (Drossen) and the lake Röthsee (Reczynek).

Ośno Lubuskie (Drossen) has one of the most beautiful open air theaters of the region, directly on the lake Reczynek (Röthsee). It was built in the thirties of the last century by the Nazis as a so-called Thing site of a proposed reorganization of Drossen as a so-called "City of Youth ".
Today its a locations for concerts and events with the city as a wonderful backdrop.

From town center go into direction Słońsk (Sonnenburg), but go right before you reach the town border. Follow the street into the forrest, the theater is on the right side in the forrest. |
