On western parts of Poland (former Neumark region) befor World War II almost every village had palace or mansion owned by landowners.
In 1945 march of Russian Red Army and fights in the towns was a reason of destroying many beautifull
obiects of achitecture like for example castle in Kostrzyn (Küstrin). After war many other went to ruine. Some of them were adopted as offices of local State Agricultural Farms. Later they also has fallen.
Some palaces that was adopted as school are left in good condition. Reasonable investitions would may still save some palaces that every year are in decay.
Palace from 18th century with palace park . Now it belongs to the horse stud and in palace is the hotel.

When you drive to from direction Wierzchlas (Falkenwalde) the palace will be on left side of the road, just before main crossroads in village center. Palace is deep in the yard. |

Baroque palace built in 1850. In its history palace was owned by few german families. last of the owners was family von Oelsen. After World War II in palace was located gardening school and later administration of local State Agricultural Farm. Today palace is private possesion.

Complex of palace and park from 17th century. Palace was built in 17th century and rebuilt later. In end of 17th was created palace-park modified into "english type" with many stones, postuments, monuments, and egzotic trees.

Beautiful neoclassicistic palace built in the 14th century. Today stays in ruin. The owners of palace were thru the history the families: von Ellingen, von Marwitz, von Burgsdo rff, von Sydow, von Hertell, Henning, Kramer, von Berg, Nesselhauf, von Katt, Wegener and von Dyhrn. Around the palace there is a 3,5 ha park.

Palace rebuilt in 1825 by Baron von Romberg. Later sold to family von Stolberg. In 1922 sold by Albert von Stolberg for some land association in Frankfurt. Actually it contains social welfare home.

In 1914 the evangelic Reifensteiner Association, girl's and women's educational institution, established in a Mieszkowice (Bärwalde/Nm.) an rural woman school. The school was a model institution and on latest state of the art. 1939 parts
of the school was seized by the german army, since 1942 the half of the school was a military hospital. After the war there was a polish military school, and later a high school with boarding.

The palace was built in 1814, bought in 1821 by Prince August Wilhelm of Prussia for Auguste Arend, with whom he
had illegitimate children. Auguste later received the name of Prillwitz who also gave the place its name. 1922 bought by the Industrial
Conrad von Borsig, which remodeled the park and stocked until his death in 1945 by a collection of rare plants. The castle now serves as an education center, cafe and hotel.

Przelewice is easy to reach from , Pyrzyce or Barlinek (Berlinchen). From there is the way to "Ogród Dendrologiczny" signposted. The palace is in the garden. |

Palace has been built by family von Bredow in 18th century. Now the palace is in ruine. It is owned by big cosmetic company that planned to open hotel here, however the project did not moved forward.

Ruin of a palace built in 1429 and rebuilt in 1668 after fire. After World War II changed into grain storage. Destroyed by the fire again in 1975. Stays in ruin.

From Kostrzyn (Küstrin) use the Street No. 22 in south-eastern direction, after 15 kilometers you will reach Słońsk (Sonnenburg). The ruin of the palace is in the center of the town in opposite of the church. |

Neoclassicistic palace from 19th century. Buildt by Julius von Osten. In years 1958-1983 here was located the elementary shool. Today palace is in ruin.

Palace was built by Family von Oelsen in years 30' of 19th century, on a place where in 1827 burned the former
palace of Family von Sack. In 1955 and 1975 toke place renovations of palace. On march 29th 1990 palace was destroyed
by the fire. Palace is on the historical remains list so it can't be completely destroyed. However there are plans to remove
it from historical obiects list and demolish it completely.

When you drive from Mieszkowice (Bärwalde/Nm.) direction Chojna (Königsberg/Nm.) then you can leave your car in Witnica Chojeńska (Vietnitz) on the left side of road on small car park behind the bus stop.
Than walk about 200 metres back and take small road between brick wall oposite the big farm buildings (when going from Mieszkowice this road is on the right). Than go direction park and walk the path.
The palace will be 200 metres behind first trees. |
