In the Neumark, there is now an impressive number of museums, certainly none with worldwide recognition, but
some of them unique in the world, like a museum of the meadows. Many communities have small urban and regional museums, supplemented by some
partly private collections, for example of historic military equipment. In Gorzow Wielkopolski (Landsberg) there are also collections
of regional significance too.

In an old water mill (build in 1826, technically still funkctional) is a small, but really wonderful exhibition of the former rural live.
Who is interested, how the life of the farmers and millers of the Neumark was in the past, should not
miss a visit at this exhibition. Additional is the wonderful surrounding nature.

The Lubuskie Museum is located in the beautiful century villa of the German industrialist Gustav Schroeder, which is itself well worth seeing.
There is visible on a faithful way, how the upper class lived in the beginning of the 20th century. Various exhibits, paintings, a collection of coins, and objects from the past such as historic grave stones in the adjacent park, make the museum a place worth visiting.

Museum of the Military Engineers of 1st Polish Army in Gozdowice (Güstebiese)
Since 1965, located in the building that in april 1945 was the settle of commander of military operations in the Odra valley. It contains memories of the Polish and Russian army actions in spring 1945.

The worldwide unique Museum of the Meadows in Owczary (Ötscher) informs about the fauna and flora in the meadow areas of the world and especially in the Neumark. In the small museum the visitor can see a lot of charts and exhibits about the natur of the Neumark. And how like es practically, can have a look to some small answers in the neighbouring buildings or in the meadows around Owczary.

Museum was opened in the historic building of former inn in june 1978. In 2008 it was restored.

In the museum are collected many obiects from Odra Crossing in 1945, and some weapons from archeological site in Odra valley. Beside small museum you can find here Tank - moument, and Polish Army - Cementary from 2nd World War

Who has a really cannon in its garden? Mr. Chielewski from Witnica has not only one and a private museum with weapons, equipment and uniforms especially of the polish army.

If you come from Kostrzyn (Küstrin), than go short before reaching the towncenter of Witnica (Vietz) to Ul. Gen. Sikorskiego left.
The museum is on the house number 35 left, you will see the cannon in the garden before the house. |
