TRZCIŃSKO ZDRÓJ

(former: Bad Schönfließ)

Location

Trzcińsko Zdrój (Bad Schönfließ) is located about 15 km east from Chojna (Königsberg/Nm.) and about 20 km west from Myślibórz (Soldin) .
Trzcińsko Zdrój (Bad Schönfließ) is small - about 3000 inhabitants town.
It lays in the middle of morain hills among marshes and lakes. On the east side of town is lake.

History

It was formerly a fishermans village.
In XIX century in Trzcińsko Zdrój (Bad Schönfließ) was discovered peloids and in 1898 A.D. here was created sanatorium - resort. Sanatorium was closed after World War II because of close localisation of Military Aircraft Base in Chojna (Königsberg/Nm.) .

Today

In Trzcińsko Zdrój (Bad Schönfließ) you can find beside few shops, and bars, also bank, post office, and marketplace. Here is located also Elementary shool.

Church dedicated to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Trzcińsko Zdrój (Bad Schönfließ)

Church from 13th century rebuilt in 1883-1894.
Holy mass every Sundays: 7:00, 9:00, 11:00 AM, 6:00 PM, other days 6:00 PM. (Parish church)

how to find → From the market in Trzcińsko Zdrój go to the street "2 lutego" - behind the town hall to the left. Thank walk about 200 metres and look left.

Defensive Wall of Trzcińsko Zdrój

Town is completely surrounded by the Wall with many towers. Walls was buildt in 14th - 19th century. They are made of field-stone. Defensive Wall in Trzcińsko Zdrój are one of the best survived fortifications in this part of Poland.

On the cemetery in Trzcińsko Zdrój (Bad Schönfließ) you can find the monument in memory if german soldiers from Trzcińsko Zdrój (Bad Schönfließ) who died in I World War. In rear part of main cemetery is located World War II cemetery with graves of soldiers and prisoners from Poland and another countries who died in 1945.
