MORYŃ (former: Mohrin)
Location
Moryń is located away of any main roads. Best way to get to Moryń is from Osinów Dolny (Niederwutzen) (border) and Cedynia (Zehden) (15 km), or from Chojna (Königsberg/Nm.) (15 km) via Mętno (Gross Mantel) - very nice road.
Moryn is the smallest towns in region. There is about 1600 inhabitants.
It is located by the Lake Morzycko on the west side of lake, one of the deepest lakes in Poland.
Around Moryń you can find very wavy marrains covered by fields, and somewhere small lakes. On the south there is some woods.
History
Moryń was buildt in the beginning of XIV century.
It was engrid by Defensive Wall. This Defensive Wall survived untill today.
Moryń survived the World War II without damage.
After war it was quite popular touristic town.
Today
There is very nice beach, and some places like Hotel or just rooms for
rent where you can stay. Town is very peaceful and quiet with very
nice spirit of old town.

Church dedicated to Holy Spirit in Moryń (Mohrin)
Roman church from 13th century. It's walls are made from the stone, so is the base of the altar, probably from 12th century.

Morzycko Lake
Lake Morzycko has a depth of up to 60 meters. It is the 9th lake in Poland in terms of depth. It has an area of 342 hectares. Coregonus albula, a fish typical for deep and clean waters, can be found in this lake.
