PRZYJEZIERZE

(former: Butterfelde)

Location

Przyjezierze (Butterfelde) is located by the Przyjezierskie Lake and the northern shore of the Morzycko Lake, 3.1 km north from Moryń. The number of inhabitants is 283 (2009). The railway station Przyjezierze-Moryń, belonging to the now defunct Stargard Szczeciński-Siekierki line, is located in the western part of the village.

History

The village was first mentioned in 1399. In the 18th century, the domain became the property of the Prussian Royal Family. Since 1740, the domain was under constant lease.

Interesting places

The village church built in the beginning of the 19th century with the interior dating mostly to the time when the church was constructed. The church bells were cast in 1804 and 1918.
A one-storey manor house built in the 18th century which has undergone several subsequent alterations, with a nearby park, elements of which, such as the path along the lake shore, the chestnut tree alley, are still recognizable today.

Ruins of German cemetery in Przyjezierze (Butterfelde)

Ruins of cemetery are located in bushes in the center of village. Strongly damaged, no inscriptions left. Only few pieces of graves.

Morzycko Lake

Lake Morzycko has a depth of up to 60 meters. It is the 9th lake in Poland in terms of depth. It has an area of 342 hectares. Coregonus albula, a fish typical for deep and clean waters, can be found in this lake.
