Kostrzyn (Küstrin) is located by the Warta River and odra River, near the border between Poland and Germany. Kostrzyn (Küstrin) is about 45 km far west from Gorzów Wielkopolski (Landsberg/Warthe) , and 90 km east from Berlin (Germany). In Kostrzyn (Küstrin) there is a bridge - border passage to Germany. Nearest town on the German river side is Seelow.
Town has about 17000 inhabitants.
River - Warta is surrounding Kostrzyn (Küstrin) from south, and few kilometers near Kostrzyn (Küstrin) Warta is connecting to Odra River. On the north you can find woods, and on the south large meadows and mashes that are the National Park.

In middle of XVI century Kostrzyn (Küstrin) was engrid by big
fortification. There was located town and the castle.
Kostrzyn (Küstrin) was
the capital of Neumark. It was the fortress, but in
1806 was captured by French army. In XIX century around the town was
buildt four forts and few other military obiects.
The town and the Castle was completely destroyed during 1945 A.D. by
Russian artillery. After II World War rest of the town including the
castle was distroyed.

Monument of the 1758 Zorndorf battle in Sarbinowo near Kostrzyn (Küstrin)
Rests of the monument for the Zorndorf battle between prussian and russian forces in 1758. The monument was
mentioned in the book 'Wanderungen durch die Mark Brandenburg' by the famous german author Theodor Fontane, but today it is only a pile of stones, where in 1758 the general hill
of the prussian king Friedrich II was.

Cemetery in memory of alies prisoners of II World War whose hundreds was killed by Nazists. In common graves are located bodies of French, British, Dutch and another soildiers.
